Create an ISO image from /dev/cdrom

# cat /dev/cdrom > image.iso

# dd if=/dev/cdrom of=image.iso

Create an ISO image from directory contents

$ mkisofs -o image.iso source_dir/ -V "Label"

Hybrid ISO that boots off pendrive or hard disk

# isohybrid image.iso
# dd if=image.iso of=/dev/sdb1
